Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder with the main manifestations of excessive daytime sleepiness, cataplexy, sleep paralysis, sleep hallucinations, and nighttime sleep disturbance. Cataplexy cannot be considered as a pathognomonic symptom of narcolepsy.
